Copy-editing is a process that involves smoothing out errors and inconsistencies in a work that is otherwise ready for publication. My primary goal as an editor is to ensure that your meaning is always clear to your readers. This includes providing feedback on any errors related to grammar and spelling, advice on formatting, and constructive comments on plot and character development.
All my edits are done using the track changes function in Microsoft Word, which allows you to see and approve all alterations before your completed manuscript is published.

Academic Proofreading for Papers and Theses
My proofreading service for academic publications includes many of the same editing techniques as above, with some added elements. In addition to grammar, spelling and formatting corrections, I provide feedback on obvious factual inaccuracies, argument construction, and inconsistencies in references and citations.

How it works
Contact me using the form below. In your message, please let me know the genre into which you are writing as well as the overall word count. I will respond with a few questions about what services you think you need, after which you can send me a sample of your work (700 to 1,000 words) for me to edit. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with how I work and determine whether you are happy to move forward.
If you choose to work with me, I will then provide you with a predicted timeline for each stage of editing. Typically I work in instalments, which means that I will send you an edited chapter to look over while I begin the next one. However, I am happy to make adjustments to my schedule based on your deadlines and level of comfort.
